Founded in 1944 as Dakota Welding Supply Company in Watertown, SD, and later merging with Sioux Welding Supply Company, A-OX Welding Supply has evolved into a leader in the industrial gas and welding supply industry. Originally operated by Harold Elliott and his sons Donald and Robert, the company expanded rapidly, establishing multiple warehouses and a significant fleet by the 1950s. In 1994, it rebranded to A-OX Welding Supply, reflecting its broadened geographic reach and expanded services. Today, under the leadership of Harold’s great-grandchildren Tiffany Anderson, Tisha Rogers, Dr. Terran Bergdale, and Trenton Elliott, along with the new president Kelly Kleinwolterink, the business continues to thrive, serving a diverse customer base from its state-of-the-art facility in
Sioux Falls. This facility includes an accredited specialty gas laboratory, automated fill plant, and advanced cylinder testing capabilities. A-OX’s offerings now extend to medical and scientific gases, specialty gases for manufacturing, emissions testing, and more, marking significant strides in the industry. The recent merger with Meritus Gas Partners in 2024 underscores A-OX’s commitment to continued growth and innovation.
